1. Who we are

Giftgenie (“we”, “us”, “our”) provides an AI-powered gifting concierge. This website is our pre-launch information page.

Giftgenie is operated by CABJOY LIMITED, a company registered in the United Kingdom. “Giftgenie” is the trading name used for this service.

For the purposes of the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018, the data controller is:

This email address is the contact point for privacy questions and for exercising any of the rights set out in section 9.

2. What we collect

This website is deliberately minimal. We do not ask you to create an account, and there are no sign-up forms that store your details.

• Information you send us. If you email us — for example to request early access or to ask a question — we receive your email address and whatever you choose to write, including any name or details in your message.
• Technical information from our host. Like any website, our hosting provider may record standard server logs (such as IP address, browser type and the pages requested) for security and to keep the site running. We use this only for those purposes.

We do not collect special category data through this website, and we ask that you do not send us sensitive information by email.

3. Cookies and tracking

This website sets no cookies and runs no analytics or advertising trackers.

We do not use Google Analytics or any comparable third-party analytics service. We do not embed third-party fonts, scripts, videos or social plugins, and we do not build advertising profiles. All assets on this site are served from our own domain.

If we introduce measurement or cookies in future, we will update this policy and, where required by the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR), ask for your consent first.

4. Why we use your information

• To reply to your enquiry or early access request.
• To manage our early access list and let you know when an invite is ready.
• To keep the website secure and working properly.
• To meet our legal and accounting obligations.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.

5. Our lawful bases

Under UK GDPR, we rely on the following lawful bases:

• Consent — when you contact us to ask for early access, you consent to us using your email address to respond and to manage that request. You can withdraw consent at any time.
• Legitimate interests — to keep the website secure and operational, and to respond to general enquiries.
• Legal obligation — where we must keep records to comply with the law.

6. Who we share it with

We keep sharing to a minimum. We may share information with:

• Service providers who help us run the site and our email, such as our hosting and email providers. They act on our instructions and are bound to protect your information.
• Professional advisers or authorities where we are required to do so by law.

Where a provider stores data outside the UK, we take steps to ensure it is protected to an equivalent standard, using appropriate safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or the UK Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.

7. Affiliate links

Giftgenie may earn commission from qualifying purchases made through partner links. This never affects the price you pay, and it does not influence which options we surface or how they are ranked.

Where a link is an affiliate link we label it clearly, and we will update this policy before introducing any such links. If you follow one, the retailer or affiliate network may set its own cookies, and that retailer’s or network’s privacy policy will apply to what happens on their site.

8. How long we keep it

We keep early access enquiries for as long as your request is active and for a reasonable period afterwards, so we can follow up and keep a record of your consent. If you ask us to delete your information, we will do so unless we are required to keep it by law.

9. Your rights

You have the right to:

• ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you;
• ask us to correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete;
• ask us to delete your information;
• ask us to restrict or object to how we use your information;
• withdraw consent at any time, where we rely on consent; and
• ask us to transfer your information to another provider.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk. We would appreciate the chance to put things right first.

10. Children

This website is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Giftgenie is designed to help adults choose gifts for children, but the account holder and the person contacting us should be an adult. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

11. Changes to this policy

As Giftgenie moves out of private beta, this policy will change. When we update it we will revise the “last updated” date at the top of this page, and we will make the changes clear if they are significant.
